A short story... Before I sold it recently, I had a direct marketing Internet business that automatically captured visitor's names and emails when they came to my web site and then sent them a 26 step auto responder sequence by email. This worked fine using the 1shoppingcart system I've told many of you about until I started helping other clients and starting two more companies. Then I found myself trying to coordinate direct mail letters, postcards, emails and also sales calls needing to be made by sales people for 3 businesses...

The shopping cart system worked fine if all I wanted to send was emails, but once you combined phone calls, direct mail and getting sales people involved...it gets ugly... My wife, Jeanette, helps me in my business and was spending most of her time trying to get this done for 3 different projects. ...then I got 2 more... ..

So I went to a Dan Kennedy Information marketing seminar in Cleveland. (These things cost me big time because I always buy resources from the "back of the room") This one was no different. Towards the end of the 3 days, there was a presentation from a company who had developed a web based system with 3 prominent information marketers to manage complicated marketing campaigns with lots of logic paths...if this, do that, if not, do this... combining email, direct mail, telemarketing, voice broadcast, opt-in faxes and even a sales force management system. It also had a shopping cart built in which could be set up to send orders to a fulfillment company for processing. It could automatically stop campaigns if a specified action was taken and even automatically subscribe the customer to a new campaign to get them to buy or do something else.

Pretty much, if you could flow chart it on a piece of paper, you could get the system to do it and, you could have dozens of campaigns going all at once. I immediately realized I could use this to execute for my own businesses and clients too.

So I signed up... and, unlike some other things I've bought, I'm actually using it. Here's a simple example of how I'm using it: I have a multi-step campaign where there is an interlocking series of 12 emails and 3 personalized letters... and, exactly 7 days after the first letter gets mailed, a sales person needs to be notified to make a follow up call. If anyone asks to be removed or if they call in, then they need to be removed from this sequence and signed up for a different series of 3 emails and 2 letters. Now, imagine 10 new leads are coming into this system to manage every day... and... if you really want a headache, how about if you had 20 different campaigns like this for different clients and some involved opt-in faxes or voice broadcasting? How would you like to try making sure all these pieces go to the right people at the right time?

This system can do it. Here's how. It sends out all the emails automatically at the appropriate intervals and for the personal letters it sends the Word document with the mail merge letter and the Excel list with names & addresses to Jeanette to send out the letters. She can do the mail merge with one click and doesn't have to try and figure out who gets what & when. When it's time for a sales person to call, the system sends the info of who to call and what to say by email to Ed, my sales guy in S. Denver. If I wanted to, I could give Ed limited, remote access to the system by web and let him put his notes from sales calls in the prospect record...but you don't know Ed. I tried to get him to use email and the best I could do is to get him to agree to check his email twice a month... ...so what we really do is fax him the emails because he doesn't "do email"... and, now while I'm writing this I just realized I should have had the system send him an automatic fax instead of an email... so I'll set that up later. Now that everything's set up, I don't have to do anything at all to make all this happen and I can charge my client for it and he'll never know how easy it was to do...and, best of all, I could have 50 of these campaigns all going at once and still not have to do anything!"

You need to invest in the software if you want to start making more money and saving a lot more money by tightly and accurately focusing your list selection and start making them very specific targeted offers. Dan Kennedy talks about this a lot. Up until now it is very difficult to do. However, if you're able to do it, it works wonders. The good part about this is Infusion makes this as simple as pressing a button. Infusion Software has made my job 50 times easier and much more effective. You can find them by telephone numbers so when your caller ID comes up and somebody calls in, you can already have that up before you call them back if you missed the call. Downloading reports is incredibly easy with the different clients that we work with. We have got a couple of different fulfillment systems that we go through. I can download the report. Once I get the orders, I can specify what information I want for what reports because I don't want my fulfillment team getting the credit card numbers, but I don't want to necessarily click on each one of those buttons every single time. So, I save that report just for my fulfillment team. For my system, for my uses, I may need that information. So, you can download exactly specific information that you need and then reuse that report day in and day out every time you need to download that information for your fulfillment team. Uploading information, one of my clients has several different ways that they get leads. So, I download those leads every day from those and then I upload them into Infusion. The way the campaigns are set up, it is very specific. If I am uploading it from x system, it gets loaded into x campaign. If I upload from y system, it gets loaded into y campaign. It keeps track of the affiliates. It keeps track of what campaign promotion code they responded to. So, when my clients log in, they can see exactly what add campaigns are working, what campaigns aren't working, the response rate. From there, once they are in the campaign, they can see the response rate on a campaign too. It has been really useful for that. The most helpful thing during the implementation process has been the online tutorials... they are phenomenal! My staff loves them! These tutorials make your product a winner compared to other solutions where you need to read a 400-page users guide (which you don't read and so you don't end up using the software)."

This is right before we set up with your guys because it was scary. We did a teleseminar and implemented all of Dan and Joe's stuff. Actually, we did a teleseminar and generated over 810,000 dollars. We sold like 68 coaching members into a 12,000 dollar coaching program. So, I was like oh my gosh. We need to start managing this. This is serious. So, we hooked up with the CRM. We had an event coming up. The other thing with the event is we had about 293 people there, 110 units that were already coaching members that we sold on that call, so they went into a whole separate campaign with Infusion that was automated. They were going through their cycles of teleconference calls and all this. Then, there was the campaign to get people to the event to start going out. It is automatically emailed with the database to OfficeMax that fulfills all of my stuff. Then, it manages my telemarketers because on day ten it drops into my telemarketer section, and he starts following up with the leads. Then, you know, it just keeps going. Then, once they are actually signed up for our event, there is one of two campaigns they will go into that are already set up, one is for the event. We have a whole process once they are signed up, they go into a drip marketing campaign, which is a multi-step campaign to get them to the event, the pre-teleseminars where we interview all of our speakers. So, that is all automated with Infusion. Once they go into that campaign, it just starts dripping on them. Or, a lot of the sales are actually bumped into coaching when they called in. So, that is another campaign they will go into to over-deliver to those people to make sure that they are happy. What it has also done for us .....I am sorry that I am making this long. I just want them to realize how amazing you guys are. I mean, these guys over-deliver."

"I wanted to get into the accounting function of Infusion CRM. The question I get asked most is how we use it to process credit cards. We have a lot of members and they are on continuity programs. They are automatically set up when someone signs up for a trial membership online, it automatically sets up the contact records and it sets up their continuity program that after the third month they will automatically be charged. We don't do anything. It's actually just automatically done. The cards are charged every month and it works well.

Another thing that we can do is charge people over time. We can do installment payments very simply. You can spread the payments out over how ever many months you want. People are then automatically charged. We get notification if the credit card doesn't go through. A new feature for Infusion CRM is helping people like me deal with the credit cards that fail. You can automatically send to all the people whose credit cards declined an e-mail or we can try to charge their cards again. Actually they are automatically charged again the amount of days you pre-set into the continuity program. If after that period of time they still don't go through, you can select whose card you want to try to recharge. You don't have to do it one by one. You just check it off how ever many it is. You can send them an e-mail, you can cancel their membership, you can do anything just by click of a button. It saved us an unbelievable amount of time.

It used to take us about 40 hours per month to deal with our credit cards that failed and now it takes about two. It is unbelievable the time saving."
